Biography

Stan began playing bass in a Teesside rock band in the early 1960’s gigging in the immediate area and throughout County Durham, Northumberland and North Yorkshire.

He went on to play with other rock bands in the Home Counties area and worked with a newly formed folk rock band, at a time when the concept was still in its infancy.

In the 70’s he worked with a dance band and local pop band until family commitments and the late nights forced music to take a back seat.

Over 30 years later a chance meeting with an old friend and band member brought him out of retirement and back onto the local music scene. The CD's and song writing have been a progression along the way.

His music tastes have changed over the years, bass guitar has been replaced by acoustic guitar, Irish bouzouki and Mandola, the 5 String banjo has been more challenging! Country and folk music are now his core interests and the writing inspirations flow from his love of the natural world, a wild imagination and the love of family and friends.
